Our Mission

Elevating reasoned discourse in defense of open society

We are committed to preserving the essential freedoms that sustain democracy — uniting alumni from across the political spectrum to engage in civil dialogue and principled action in defense of an open society.

We seek to:

1

Build a community engaged around issues that unite us

2

Establish points of human connection that reinforce our common ground

3

Challenge attitudes of binary thinking and partisan brinksmanship that inhibit unity

4

Elevate reasoned discourse

5

Take principled action in defense of liberty for all

What We Stand For

Essential freedoms for
an open society

Our work is grounded in six core commitments that sustain democratic life and civil society.

💭

Freedom of Thought

Protecting intellectual independence, academic freedom, and the right to explore ideas without coercion or suppression.

🤝

Civil Dialogue

Fostering respectful exchange across partisan lines, building the mutual understanding that democracy requires to function.

⚖️

Democratic Principles

Upholding constitutional law, the rule of law, and the institutional norms that protect every citizen's rights and voice.

📈

Economic Opportunity

Championing policies that expand access to economic participation and upward mobility for all Americans.

🏛️

Higher Education Freedom

Defending the independence of universities and institutions of learning from political interference of any kind.

🌐

Common Ground

Identifying shared values across partisan divides and building coalitions around issues that transcend political identity.

"We challenge attitudes of binary thinking and partisan brinksmanship that inhibit unity — and elevate reasoned discourse above the noise."
